Jaswant Thada
Jodhpur- the land of strong forts and imperial regality; magnificent in grandeur and affluent in culture. The cultural diversity as well as the gargantuan stature of its foundations mesmerize one and all.
Adding up to the spice of this spectacular destination is another architectural marvel- the Jaswant Thada. Built in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar Singh in memory of his father Maharaja Jaswant Singh, the mausoleum is an architectural marvel, sculpted in white marble. The monument is carved out from marble in such a way that it glistens when the golden rays of the sun fall on it. The mausoleum has been a cremation ground for the Jodhpur rulers. It stands in juxtaposition to the gargantuan Mehrangarh fort, where both of these man-made marvels complement each other.
The Jaswant Thada is for sure, a fabulous destination to lure one’s senses.
