Chaurasi Khambon ki Chhatri
What you cannot find anywhere, you can find here. Seems exaggeration? Well, not really. When it comes to Regal Rajasthan, nothing actually seems an exaggeration. Rajasthan presents colors, flavors and fervor which you cannot find anywhere else. Adding a delicious flavor to the spectacular district of Bundi is the Chaurasi Khambon ki Chhatri.
The name is somewhat indicative of its uniqueness, and rest is about to unfold. The Chaurasi Khambon ki Chhatri is a cenotaph built in memory of the foster brother called Deva of the ruler of Bundi, Rao Raja Aniruddh by the king himself. Built in 1740, the cenotaph houses a large Shiv Ling covered by a highly decorated rooftop, which is supported on 84 pillars. It is rumored that one can never count exactly to eighty four pillars. Or maybe someone might have tried and failed! We may never know. But what we know for sure is that the monument is definitely something worth witnessing.
